Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to read and write in the Arabic script, to create short nominal sentences in the present tense, to use complimentary phrases and to introduce themelves.
Syllabus
  • Writing: Arabic alphabet
  • Grammar: noun, adjective, gender, definite article, plural, adjunct, personal pronoun, nominal sentence
  • Conversation: greetings, introduction

Teaching methods
Lectures, oral grammar exercises, reading and comprehension tasks, conversation, written homeworks.
Assessment methods
Homeworks are obligatory. Attendance at the lessons is not required, but recommended. The final examination is written test. The test consists of Grammar tasks (20 points) and Reading comprehension tasks (20points). Student has to attain at least 30 points to pass the examination successfully.
