- Cíle předmětu
- The course is meant to serve as a tool for accommodating those research topics that materialize in the process of designing new research projects of the department. As a lab, the relevant topics can be named only short-term. The main accent, however, will lay on media work, the popularization of anthropological content, ethics of journalism, intellectual property, cultural heritage, minority politics and topics that point to development cooperation & advocacy. By an engaged & detailed discussion the students shall gather specific insights in the complexities of archaeological work in the new millennium in a cross-cultural ambient. The course should serve as ‘think tank’ for the Department of Prehistoric Archaeology of the Near East.
- Osnova
- One double teaching unit every 14 days; topic according to day to day events
- Literatura
- Concomitant to the day to day events: media highlights, literary essays, science news, political statements, expressions in arts & entertainment
- Výukové metody
- Group sessions with the character of team meetings. In an opening statement at each meeting the students will be briefed on the fresh topic. A brainstorming & discussion (protocol memos) will ensue, to give a direction for the enquiries that the students have to make, preferentially working with the media.
- Metody hodnocení
- a) On the basis of the presence in the course, the extent & quality of meeting protocols, the participation in in-class discussion, the extent & quality of the enquiry reports. b) Final essay on a chosen topic that has been treated on the course.
