Course objectives
General psychology: The aim is to introduce into a set of basic concepts, which they need to develop for a further insights in psychology. Basic psychical processes, states and traits constitute a framework, which students of education may need to follow and influence in their everyday activities.
Syllabus
  • 1. Psychology among sciences. Psychology as a human science. Different kinds of psychology - general, specific and applied sciences. Psychology in education.
  • 2. Introduction into the history of psychology.
  • 3. Research method in psychology - observation, experiment, interview, survey, anamnesis, test, sociometry.
  • 4. Concepts and terms in psychology – mind, consciousness, unconsciousness, experience, behavior, action, personality etc.
  • 5. Perception. Characteristics and theories.
  • 6. Imagination. Imagery. Characteristics, types of imagination, mental imagery, associations.
  • 7. Thinking and language. Problem solving. Methods of thinking.
  • 8. Memory. Human memory process. Learning - learning methods.
  • 9. Attention. Characteristics, attention models, types of attention.
  • 10. Emotions. Classification and theories. Individual differences. Emotional process.
  • 11. Will, voluntary action and volitional processes.
  • 12. Activity. Characteristics. Types of activity - game, learning, work.
  • 13. Motivation. Motives. Motivation process. Characteristics of general motives.
  • 14. Conflicts. Problem situations. Causes. Types and modes of conflicts. Internal and external conflicts. Coping with problem situation.
