Course objectives
The aim of this course is to provide students with basic theoretical knowledge and primarily with skills in leading group reflections. In the first part of the course will introduce basic theoretical and methodological concepts of group meetings facilitation. Students will observe these concepts in practical illustrations and examples of „good practice“. In the second part of the course students will use these concepts in safe environment of the closed group. They will lead a reflective meeting under direct supervision and will be given feedback. By the end of the course students will: • Have basic knowledge of regularities in the process of leading group reflection • Learn basic skills in leading group reflection • Will be better in observing, facilitating and evaluating their own activities in this field • Will have direct experience with facilitation of the reflective process • Will be able to better provide constructive feedback to other people
Syllabus
  • Students will be provided with basic knowledge about the process of reflection, which takes place within group meetings. Various concepts of the reflective process will be introduced with their theoretical background. In this course students will meet topics concerning typologies of reflections, basic strategies of leading reflections, appropriate type of reflection due to it´s aim, subjective and objective boundaries of the reflection etc. The key part of the course will be practical rehearsals of leading group reflection.

Teaching methods
The course will be conceived as interactive self-experience seminar with several theoretical parts. In the self-experiential part of the course students will rehearse the role of a facilitator influencing the process of reflection. Theoretical part will anchor the topic in the context of experiential reflective learning.
Assessment methods
Students will prepare and lead a group reflection and will be given feedback from participants and lecturers of the course.
