Course objectives
The students will meet the most important characters and problems of ancient philosophy in this lecture from Thales to Aristotle.
The exposition is aimed at explanation of motives, connections and consecutiveness of the oldest philosophical questioning.
Learning outcomes
After the completion of the course, students should be able to:
- identify main types of the interpretation of reality in the times from Thales to Aristotle;
- explain consecutiveness of thinking of this epoch;
- explain the basic philosophical problems;
- describe the thinking of the most important philosophers in the period from Thales to Aristotle.

Assessment methods
1. Passing tests in the ELF (https://elf.phil.muni.cz/23-24/, the course Dějiny filozofie I (2023), password DF-I-2023 - the on-line course will be available at the beginning of the semester). In these tests you can gain 134 points.

2. Final test (at the faculty = the exam) - 25 points possible. (Participation in this test is necessary for the award of the degree.)

You are obliged to gain at least 110 points altogether.
