Course objectives
The course aims at improving and exercising in knowledge and skills obtained in courses PLIN006 (Elementary mathematisc and statistics for Humanities II), IB030 (Introduction to Computational Linguistics) and IB047 (Introduction to Corpus Linguistics and Computer Lexicography). By means of practical tasks students will be able to better understand abstract and formal methods that will ease further advances in studies within the field of Czech Language with Orientation on Computational Linguistics. The students can heavily influent the content of the seminar during discussions and consultations related to the course topics.

  • - principals of object-oriented programming - exercising in advanced programming tasks - exercising in advanced techniques of automated text processing - selected topics in computational linguistics, their theoretical background and practical applications

Teaching methods
Lecture combined with tutorials and analysis of exercises, discussion, practical tasks at the computer.
