Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to acquire the basics of this West Slavonic language, both in its written and spoken form. Participants of this course are supposed to acquire knowledge of the phonology and morphology of the Upper Sorbian language and an ability to communicate in this language on everyday life topics.
Syllabus
  • Revision of the contents of the Upper Sorbian I course Declension of nouns; conversation topic: ‘in a restaurant’ Declension of adjectives; conversation topic: ‘in a shop’ Conjugation of verbs; conversation topic; conversation topic: ‘in a hotel’ Adverbs, prepositions and conjunctions; conversation topic: ‘asking the way’ Reading Upper Sorbian prose, listening Advanced conversation, useful colloquial expressions and phrases Final revision, writing a short essay The topics may be dealt with in any order.
