Course objectives
The course focuses on the interpretation of texts written by Brazilian female writers of the twentieth century, especially on their production of short stories.There will be analysed many famous authors, such as Helena Parente Cunha, Lygia Fagundes Telles, Sonia Coutinho, Edla van Steen, Márcia Denser, Nilza Rezende, Renata Pallottini, Letícia Wierzchowski, Heloisa Seixas. The analysis of these texts counts with reading and preparation at home.

Teaching methods
Seminar: In the form of a presentation students show their capability to apply their theoretical knoledge in a concrete text. The following discussion brings feedback and other different points of view.
Assessment methods
Credit - is obtained for an oral paper and text analysis and for attendance - 70 %.
