II. Cycle programme scope presumes knowledge of topics and literature of following subjects: PSA 052 Counselling Psychology PSA 023 Psychological Diagnostics of Adults PSA 053 Psychological Diagnostics of Children and Adolescents Furthermore attendance of informative meeting is compulsory. Date and place of meeting will be given to students via email well in advance.

Course objectives
There is requirement of one week short-term attachment in ‘Marital and Family Counselling Services, ’Centres of Social Services’ and other relevant institutions of ‘Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs’ . Aim of subject study is to acquire basic overview of psychologist’s work inside these organisations i.e. psychological practice within framework of specialized field of marital and family counselling. This includes confrontation of theoretical knowledge with the practical reality of particular workplace. Student acquires: - Basic knowledge and orientation in professional practical subjects creating scope of working activities of psychologists inside these organisations. - Basic experience in elaboration of case study in field of marital and family counselling. - Basic knowledge of structure and organisation of particular workplace.
Syllabus
  • There is requirement of five days short-term attachment to practice which is to be secured by students themselves in some of recommended workplaces. List of such workplaces is available for viewing in PsU secretarial office. In the end of practice student elaborates written paper based on information from his supervisor of chosen workplace and other available documents. Such paper contains: - Description of workplace - Integration of workplace in structure of organisation - Content of workload - Current problems in process of solution - Description of working participation of practising student - Case study(currently solve case) -- Description of one concrete case solved during student’s stay and elaboration of student’s own proposal for further method of psychological action - Student reviews and summarizes concrete benefits of his short-term practice for his professional and personal development. - Student evaluates acquired experience relatively to theory and reflects on his practice.

Teaching methods
Five days short-term attachment in practice at recommended workplace is required. Students’ obligation is to submit to rules of chosen workplace and observe standards of professional ethics.
Assessment methods
Requirements for obtaining of credit are: - Submission of ‘Protocol about completion of short-term practice in marital and family counselling’ - Confirmation of student’s participation in practice - Assessment of practising student by his supervisor at organisation workplace - Submission of written paper comprising description of workplace, case study and reflection on practice.
