Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge, skills and competences in the field of communication about the results of science and research, which will help them in their further professional career and will be useful in practice.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students will be familiar with the basic principles of communication about science and the results of research and development; to be able to choose appropriate communication tools with respect to the given target group and to be able to effectively communicate about their own research results. Students will be able to work efficiently with adequate electronic resources and literary sources after completing the course, with the aim of smoothly synthesizing the acquired knowledge in a professional text, critically evaluating and discussing their conclusions. They will also learn the core principles of writing papers and publications, including citation standards and the formulation of research limits, which they will be able to apply in their own work, as well as presenting the main results of scientific outputs by way of an oral contribution to a professional conference.

  • Basic principles of communication about science and research and development results. Principles of preparation of oral and poster presentations. Presentation skills, conferences, symposiums and workshops. Writing different types of scientific texts (empirical studies, overview studies, meta-analyzes).

Assessment methods
Credit. Conditions for obtaining credit is 80% of active student participation in the seminar and presentation of current scientific results of their own activities (provides an overview of current knowledge in the field of theoretical bases of the research project, a presentation of their own research design etc.) according to instructions of the lecturer.
