Course objectives
This seminar is focused on work with text. The main aims are: Greek orthography practice, understanding of Modern Greek, particularly journalistic, text and improvement of students’ independent writing.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the seminar, students will be able to:
- explain and apply the rules of greek orthography;
- write short texts (e.g. an advertisement, an application, greeting cards, a curriculum vitae, business and private correspondence, etc.);
- write well structured texts on a discussed topics.
Syllabus
  • Rules of Greek orthography – basic theoretical information and practical exercises. Reading of Modern Greek texts, particularly from Modern Greek press – understanding of texts, language analysis. Independent writing – short essays.
