Course objectives
Student consultations with their thesis advisor, taking place based on student needs and with a view to the quality of the work and progress on it. The master’s thesis should address a scholarly issue at a level appropriate to the degree being pursued. In their master’s thesis, students must demonstrate the ability to work independently in keeping with academic standards, knowledge and understanding of the relevant scholarly literature, and the ability to analyse the issue under study.
Learning outcomes
The goal of the master’s thesis seminar is to assist students in completing their master’s theses and prepare for their successful defence. The timetable for the consultations is arranged on an individual basis or in small groups.
Syllabus
  • The course consists of individual consultations or seminars in small groups of students dealing with related topics. The course content includes:
  • formal requirements for the master’s thesis;
  • a presentation of the thesis structure and bibliography;
  • a presentation of work in progress on the master’s thesis;
  • an evaluation, discussions.
Literature
  • Further literature for the diploma thesis seminar is assigned on an individual basis based on the topic of the thesis. | (in Czech) Literatura pro diplomový seminář je předepsána individuálně podle tématu práce.

The advisor awards the course-unit credit for the semester on the basis of progress made and student-advisor consultations
