Course objectives
The main aim of the course is to connect the knowledge gained during the study of didactics and other disciplines in practice. The connection with practice is achieved predominantly by using the knowledge gained during pedagogical practice in Russian directly in the teaching process. The following aims are preparing the paper on the specific topic connected with up to now experiences in practice and its following defence on the students’ conference moderated by the professional didact. The significant aim is strengthening presentation skills of the students.
Learning outcomes
After finishing the course, the student will be able:
- to characterize the problems of teaching Russian language at the school where he was on internship;
- to analyse his own opinions, impulses and possible approaches in teaching Russian;
- to connect the knowledge gained by studying didactics and other disciplines with practice predominantly by using the knowledge gained during rolling/continuous pedagogical practice;
- to deepen his reflexive and self-reflective skills necessary for teacher’s profession;
- to make and analysis of the professional topic from the sphere of Russian language didactics;
- to prepare the presentation and actively perform it with the higher number of listeners, manage the nervousness and to know how to react on the audience response;
- to express his opinion during the discussion on the topics of the colleges’ papers using skills gained in pedagogical practice in Russian;
- to apply the theoretical knowledge of teaching Russian in practice and to present a paper on it afterwards.
Syllabus
  • Topics of papers and following defence will be provided for each year of conference at least two months before its holding. General orientation of the conference:
  • - respect of the age specifics of the students when preparing and realizing the teaching of Russian;
  • - interconnection of teaching Russian with other humanitarian subjects of the given school type;
  • - connection of theoretical knowledge with practical skills in teaching units;
  • - activization and motivation of students at classes, organization of classes from the teacher’s level;
  • - the discipline and its maintaining, working out teacher’s authority;
  • - applied ways of checking the level of managing skills and their advantages/disadvantages;
  • - the suitability of certain textbooks and possibilities of their addition with the materials that the teacher purposefully prepares as follow-up to the specifics of the students group.

- participation the discussion;
- submission of the worked-out project/paper.
Assessment methods
Presentation on the conference and submission of the project/paper based on students’ own professional work in the sphere of Russian didactics.
