Course objectives
The aim of the course is a mock defence of the Ph.D. thesis and finishing and submiting the final text. The doctoral student receives and considers feedback from his/her supervisor and a peer concerning the advanced draft of the dissertation.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students should be able to:
  • consider and address feedback on their own text;
  • revise or support arguments which were questioned by reviewers of an academic text.

    • Feedback from written feedback from the supervisor and one further reviewer.
    • Participation in a mock defence of the Ph.D. thesis (on-site or online, with the presence of the supervisor and further reviewer).
    • Consideration of the relevant feedback.
    • Corrections and revisions of the thesis.
    • Finishing the thesis.

    Participation in the mock defence (50 percent). Acceptance of the thesis by the supervisor (50 percent).
