Course objectives
The main target of this subject is to offer to the student a general view of modern catalan literature. This subject begins there, where Literatura catalana II finishes until current time.
Syllabus
  • The subject closes the cycle od catalan literature started in Literatura catalana I and continued in Literatura catalana II. The contents of the course is: L'assignatura tanca el cicle de literatura catalana iniciat amb Literatura catalana I i continuat a Literatura catalana II. El temari és el següent: LITERATURA CATALANA III Noucentism - Eugeni d'Ors (1881-1954) – [ELF] - Josep Carner (1884-1970) – [ELF] - Guerau de Liost (1878-1933) – [ELF] Years 20 and 30 - Carles Riba (1893-1959) – [ELF] - Josep Maria de Segarra (1894-1961) - Josep Pla (1897-1981) - Pere Quart (1899-1986) From 1939 - Manuel de Pedrolo (1918 – 1990) - Baltasar Porcel (1937 - ) - Quim Monzó (1952 - ) - Llorenç Villalonga (1897 – 1980) - Albert Sánchez Piñol (1965 - ) Exile - Mercè Rodoreda (1908-1983) - Pere Calders (1912-1994) There are two compulsory readings: La pell freda, by Albert Sánchez and La Plaça del Diamant, by Merce Rodoreda.
