Course objectives
Learn to hold the first talks in Basque, using our everyday life situations through which students can see the real use of language.
Learning outcomes
The student will get to a A1 level in Basque language according to the European Reference Frame.
Syllabus
  • 1. Reviewing programme Basque I. Presenting oneself. Questions and answers. 2. Asking for the time. Numbers. Days of the week. Months of the year. Seasons. 3. Describing cities and places. Verbs: Izan, Egon, Ukan. Colors, adjectives. Postpositions: in front of, under, next to, on the left, on the right etc. 4. Ordering food and drinks in restaurants. Verbs: To want, To have to/must, Can, Worth. 5. Declensions and interrogative pronouns: Nor, Nori, Nork, Noren, Norekin, Norentzat, Zenbat, etc. 6. Weather. Verbs: To rain, to snow, to be windy, to be cold, to be cold etc. 7. Time tense: Past tense, present tense and future tense. 8. Synthetic verbs: To go, to come, to walk 9. Conjuction: and (eta), but (baina), or (edo), so (beraz), For that reason, (horregatik)etc. 10. Nominalization of the verb: EgiTEA; IkusTEA; lan egiTEA;

Teaching methods
The exercises we will do during the classes require the active participation of students. There will also be individual work to be done at home.
