Course objectives
Submission of the completed diploma thesis in accordance with University, Faculty and Departmental rules and regulations. M.A. thesis solves a partial problem regarding to the field of study. Students must demonstrate their ability to work independently in keeping with academic standards, a knowledge and understanding of the relevant scholarly literature and the ability to analyse the particular material.
Learning outcomes
After finishing the course, the student will be able:
- to formulate the hypothesis, the structure and the time plan of the graduate thesis;
- to find and to process relevant science literature according to thematic orientation of the thesis;
- to collect the relevant research data with the help of appropriate methods;
- to describe, to analyse, to interpret and to evaluate the collected data;
- to write the graduate thesis of the required length and standard language and formal quality according to the rules and regulations about master’s thesis.
Syllabus
  • The thesis solves a partial problem corresponding with the particular type of study programme. The author must demonstrate his ability to create an independent scholarly work (work with sources, analysis of the material and independently formulated conclusions).

Assessment methods
The output of the course is a master thesis. The acceptance of the masterʼs thesis is confirmed by the thesis supervisor in the information system. The thesis is evaluated by the tutor and reviewer.
