  • Kurz přibližuje archeologii oblastí souvisejících s biblickými texty Starého i Nového zákona. Soustřeďuje se zejména na bližší charakteristiku starověké Palestiny, resp. Syropalestiny (Kenaánu), kde krystalizovalo staroizraelské náboženství, poexilní judaismus i křesťanství. Kurs podává přehled archeologického vývoje této oblasti od nejstarších dokladů paleolitického stáří až po sklonek starověku, tedy dobu talmudického judaismu a raného křesťanství. S ohledem na diasporní židovství a misijní šíření raného křesťanství se výklad příležitostně dotýká i jiných oblastí (Egypt, Mezopotámie, Malá Asie, Řecko, Itálie).
