Prerequisites
It is expected that students have passed the Spanish Literature exam. Kurz pojednává o o současné španělské literatuře, od 90. let po současnost.

Course objectives
This course offers an outline of the Contemporary Spanish Literature from the 1990 up till now.
Syllabus
  • 1.Introduction to the historical, cultural and social context../ 2. Generation 36 (C.J.Cela, M.Delibes, G. Torrente Ballester) and Generation of the Middle of the Century (A.M. Matute, C.Martín Gaite, Juan Goytisolo) 3. Generation 68 (E. Mendoza, M. Vázquez Montalbán, Soledad Puértolas, etc.) 4. Generation 80, A. Muñoz Molina, Juan José Millás, Javier Marías, Bernardo Atxaga, etc.) 5. Generation X. José A. Mañas/ Ray Loriga/Lucía Etxebarría/ 6. Other tendentions. Care Santos. Cuca Canals/ 7. Alex de la Iglesia/ 8. Globalization in literature: Jaime Bayly, Jorge Eduardo Benavides, Fernando Iwasaki. 9. Nueva generación literaria: Vanessa Montfort 10. Juan Carlos Méndez Guédez Jednotlivá témata se vztahují k vybraným autorům daného období a jejich nejvýznačnějším dílům.
Teaching methods
Lecture: description of the particular literary field, explanation and definition of basic notions and their demonstration on concrete texts by concrete authors. Seminar: Application of the acquired theoretical knowledge on authentic texts. In the form of comments the students show their capability to connect their theoretical knowledge while working with a particular text.
Assessment methods
Regular and active participation is expected. Credit: is obtained for active participation (80 %) and after working on one topic (success rate 20 %, oral or written form) where students prove their capability to connect theoretical knowledge with the analysis and interpretation of literary texts.
