Course objectives
At the end of the course, the student will be able to apply his or her theoretical knowledge of different syntactical approaches (traditional, functional, generative, etc.) to practical analysis.
Syllabus
  • The notion of syntax in the history of Spanish linguistics.
  • Theoretical and methodological approach to syntax.
  • Traditional, functional, generetive, structural and distributive syntax.
  • Principal ways of syntactic analysis.

Teaching methods
Lectures of designated texts and active class participation related with previously assigned homeworks.
Assessment methods
At the end of the course there will be a written test (exam).
