Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the basic habits and practices of producing an academic text, which they will not avoid during their studies.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to evaluate the topic of the thesis, search and classify the literature, perform basic research and write an analytical text of a professional nature with all the formal requirements for such a text.

Teaching methods
During the semester, the student gradually formulates his/her topic, finds relevant literature, conducts research and finally writes his/her academic essay.

A text on the topic "Reflection of a significant event in the contemporary press" will serve as a model text.
Assessment methods
Students will receive credit for regularly completing interim assignments and submitting a text that meets the requirements for an academic text to an acceptable degree.
Náhradní absolvování
Students who are enrolled in the course and who are also on an exchange stay may complete the course in a distance learning format by agreement with the teacher.
