The student should have a CEF (Common European Framework) B1 level of chosen Slavonic language competence (in writing and speaking) to obtain recognition for this course code.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to pass an examination of active knowledge of a commonly used and passive knowledge of a specialized Slavic language.
The prerequisite for passing the exam is the study of professional literature in the language from the field of study and the acquisition of basic communication skills in the language.
The topic of the examination is related to the specific specialisation studied by the candidate.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to read with understanding specialized texts and topic, to speak independently on common life topics.
Syllabus
  • The subject of study is the professional specialization of the student with a focus on the problems of the given scientific field and his/her own professional application.
Teaching methods
Independent preparation and consultation with the teacher. Reading and translation of a selected professional text and its interpretation. Discussion of common life topics related to the student's personal and professional background.
Assessment methods
The foreign language examination consists of a written and an oral part.

The written part of the exam: a test of practical knowledge of the vocabulary and basic grammar of the language at B1 level.

The oral part of the exam has two parts:
1) reading and translating a professional text into Czech/Slovenian (or another Slavic mother tongue), brief interpretation of its content (in Czech/Slovenian or another Slavic mother tongue);
2) conversations on common life topics related to the student's personal and professional field.

Other options for taking the course:

A) The student submits a certificate/certificate of presentation of his/her own paper in the given language at an international scientific conference and provides evidence of acceptance of the paper for publication.

B) The student shall submit a certificate at B1 level (in a general or specialist language)
