Course objectives
Cultural anthropology is a social science studying human cultures, their origins and development, their comparison and importance for the man. Student will be able to understand and explain the problems of relations of anthropology and culture.
At the end of the course students will be able to: 1. Define the basic term from the field of Cultural anthropology; 2. Explain the relations of individual Cultural anthropology disciplines (anthropology, archeology, ethnology, linquistic); 3. Formulate opinions/conclusions about problems multiculturalism; 4. Interpret Cultural anthropology texts (Boas, Frazer, Malinowski, Benediktová, Levi-Strauss etc.); 5. Summarize findings from the field of actual theory of Cultural anthropology.

  • social order and authority, power in the society;
  • feasts, rituals and religion
