Course objectives
To introduce students to the history and current trends of graphic design at home and around the world.
Learning outcomes
Professional knowledge - upon completion of the course, the student demonstrates knowledge of:
- the student can explain the influence of technology on the historical development of graphic design.
- the student perceives the boundary between graphic design and liberal arts
- the student understands the social role of graphic design and - the responsibility of the graphic designer
- the student can describe the role of information design in everyday life
- the student can explain the concept of visual identity
Professional Skills - upon completion of the course, the student demonstrates skills:
- the student is able to navigate the field of Graphic Design
- the student finds connections between the historical development and the present in the field of graphic design
- the student is aware of the interdisciplinary connections between graphic design and related disciplines
- the student can discuss graphic design
- the student is able to present his/her views on graphic design in writing
