Course objectives
The students will make themselves familiar with the work of sign language lexicographer.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students are able to create materials for a sign language dictionary entry in Dictio platform.
Syllabus
  • 1. Intro: lexicography, types of dictionaries, dictionaries of Czech and Czech Sign Language; 2. Dictio platform: users view (one- and multi-language interface, searching, the structure of the entry); 3. Dictio platform: editors view (creation of the entry - title, grammatical and stylistic description, semantic definition and relations, examples, translation; 4. Work with the dictionary: discussion of the existing entries, critical reflexion, editing and creation of an entry.
