Course objectives
The course is focused on acquiring the basics of Ukrainian in its written and oral form. Students should acquire knowledge of Ukrainian phonetics and morphology as well as the ability to communicate in everyday life situations.
Syllabus
  • Ukrainian alphabet. Basic reading. Ukrainian word classes. Basic knowledge of grammar:
  • Verbs (verb categories, conjugation).
  • Nouns (gender and number, plural).
  • Adjectives (hard and soft declension).
  • Pronouns (personal, possessive).
  • Numerals (cardinal).
  • Apostrophe.
  • Conversational topics:
  • 1. Conversational etiquette.
  • 2. Meeting.
  • 3. Family.
  • 4. My town. Directions.
  • 5. Shops and shopping.
