Course objectives
Development of Czech Cinema II This course will focus on the development of Czech cinema from the 1960s to the contemporary era. It will introduce the phenomenon of Czech new wave together with the changes of film genres in the 1960s, the specifics of czech cinema in the two decades of so called normalisation as well as the crucial trends in Czech cinema after 1989. The lectures will concentrate on key events, genres and filmmakers and on political, cultural and institutional conditions, which determined the development of postwar Czech cinema.
