Course objectives
The course analyses the various forms of avant-garde and traditionalism in the works of Russian composers of 20th century, beginning with N. Skrjabin and ending with the second Russian music avant-garde (Denisov, Schnitke). The interpretation of music personalities and tendencies is confronted with intellectual and political changes in Russian society.
