Course objectives
After completing the course the student should be able to a) explain the relationship between knowledge technologies, human imagination and cultural identity, b) understand the dependence of information veracity on regimes of trust.
Syllabus
  • The direct relation between individual identity and knowledge is our working premise. Topics covered: 1. The impact of print on the transformation of traditional medieval society into the mediated communities of the Modern Age. 2. The historical dependence of the identity of information on established regimes of trust and textual veracity. 3. Digital age and dislocated learning, hybrid identity and virtual places.

Lectures are concluded with a colloquium where each student presents and hands in a short essay on a relevant topic. Credit.
