Course objectives
The aim of the course is to gain an overview of the conflict of laws of obligations, tort law and rights in rem. Specifically through the lens of the Rome I Regulation, the Rome II Regulation and the CPR. It is primarily a matter of grasping knowledge so that the student can gain an idea of the legal regime of selected relationships in the field of international trade in particular, where there is no unified substantive regulation.
Learning outcomes
After completing this course, the student will be able to: work with a contract in the area of conflict of laws; understand the issue of choice of law; understand the situation when the choice of law is invalid or does not exist; understand the basic position of the issue of the so-called imperative norms; understand the problem of torts and their legal regime at the basic level; understand the problem of substantive rights and their legal regime in its basic form.

Teaching methods
Teaching will be carried out: a) Frontal teaching method with personal participation of the student in the faculty building when an initial mandatory consultation will take place including the definition of the issues and systematics, key concepts and institutes, assignment of the course completion. The student will be familiarized with both the technical means (MS Teams) and the teaching method. b) Synchronous form through three continuous mandatory group tutorials implemented in MS Teams environment, the following methods will be implemented (to be selected according to the reality): group and cooperative learning, critical thinking, project-based learning, practical problem solving, brainstorming, emphasis will be placed on providing feedback, not frontal teaching c) Asynchronous form (individual guided self-study) from the provided materials in the IS (interactive curriculum) and using also the textbook.

Written term paper. Oral examination.
