- Course objectives
- The purpose of this subject is to provide students with basic knowledge on EU law nad EU itself - its development, institutional law, notion of the EU law incl. their relation to internal law, EU substantial law (internal market regulation, four freedoms). Attention is paid also to the recent development (EU Constitutional Treaty).
- Syllabus
- 1. History and development of the European integration. Creation of the three Communities and EU. Methods and forms of integration, supranationality. 2. Community and Union institutions. Institutional law. Basic treaties as an EC (EU) Constitution. 3. EC law - primary and secondary law. Sources, primacy and direct effect. ECJ as the creator of EC law. 4. Basic principles of the common (internal) market. 4 basic freedoms.
