Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with intensive preparation for the diploma assignment, consisting of solving an assignment in civil and criminal procedure. The diploma assignment is a special feature of the Senior Officer of Justice study programme, it is a part of the state final examination, which should be given special attention during the study. The course is complementary to the practical training and allows students to deepen their knowledge and especially the skills required for the diploma assignment in both civil and criminal procedure. The course will focus on solving a specific assignment from both areas, which students will develop in a faculty setting under the conditions they would have for a thesis assignment (in particular, access to legal databases, working with a thesis answer book, etc.). Subsequently, students will receive feedback from the lecturers, which will allow them to focus on any shortcomings in the preparation for the "sharp" diploma assignment at the end of their studies.
Learning outcomes
After successful completion of the course Civil and Criminal Procedure - Practice of the Assignment, the student is able to work in a realistic environment for the purpose of completing the diploma task with samples of decisions, legal databases containing case law and literature and to process both theoretical questions and practical task (especially the preparation of a decision of a senior judicial officer) correctly, efficiently and in the time allocated for the diploma task. By completing the course, the student will deepen his/her theoretical knowledge and practical skills in both civil and criminal procedure.
