Course objectives
At the end of this course, students will be able to understand and explain main issues of the contemporary international law; to find and use information regarding international law in an efficient way; to submit sound arguments on international legal issues; and, last but not least, to create legal solutions for international problems, even in case where there has been a substantial uncertainty as regards the particular issue.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to work with international law at both theoretical and practical levels. They will be able to work effectively with the sources of information on international law. Students will be able to untangle complex problems in international law. Students will be able to articulate better their arguments in legal English.

The analysis of cases of both international and national courts, the development of legal argumentation through analysis of "hard cases".

Teacher's information
This course is intended for those students who wish to develop not only theoretical skills in international law, but also those of a more practical nature. Students will have to search legal sources, including case law, analyse them and express their opinion. They may be asked to write a short piece of writing on a topic dealt with in the session. The course will require the preparation by the students. This will include namely reading, writing and working with IT technologies, as well as discussing the problematic issues that have arisen in international law. Hence the preparation before the seminar is of an essential importance.
