Course objectives
By graduating from this subject the student should be able to describe and value complexly the contain, purpose and forms of the public service in the television broadcasting and to lead an objective and also critical discussion both about the relevance and contribution of the public service in the television broadcasting and about the position and activity of the Czech television on various legal levels. The main target is here to present the Czech television not only as a provider of the public service in the television broadcasting, but also in other forms, mainly as one of the most important audio-visual producers in the Czech Republic, enterpriser, counterbalance of television broadcasters with licence (“commercial” broadcasters) and so on.
Syllabus
  • 1. Historical circumstances of the establishment of the Czech television. 2. Position of the Czech television in the law system of the Czech Republic. 3. Public service in the television broadcasting – term, contain, purpose, forms. 4. Czech television Code. 5. Counsel of the Czech television as an authority of the control of the activity of the Czech television by the public. 6. Counsel for radio and television broadcasting and Czech television. 7. Justice and Czech television.

Teaching methods
Lectures, seminars with practicing, visit in the Czech television, discussions with specialists
Assessment methods
Final colloquium with an individual or collective presentation of the tasks assigned during the classes.
