Course objectives
At the end of the course, student should be able to: - understand basic issues in bioethics and legal regulatory framework of biotechnology in research and practice - analyze and solve particular legal problems of research on humans - analyze and solve particular legal problems of research and development in biotechnological medicine - analyze and solve particular legal problems of application of genetic methods in medicine and biotechnological production - analyze and solve particular legal problems of privacy protection and protection of personal data in biotechnological research and development - analyze and solve particular legal problems of industrial legal protection of outcomes of biotechnological research and development

  • Introduction, overview of topics, assignment of questionnaires
  • Biotechnology as a legal issue
  • Basics of bioethics
  • Legal regulation of research on humans
  • Biotechnological medicine
  • Legal regime of usage of human organs, transplants and cells in medicine, biobanks
  • cloning, genetic scanning and manipulation, research on human embryo cells, GMO, databases
  • patent protection of medicines
  • legal issues in reproduction medicine and determination of parenthood
  • biostatistics and data protection
  • Human-computer interfaces, remote healthcare
  • Summary, evaluation of questionnaires

lectures, seminars, e-learning application, workshops with practicing professionals
Assessment methods
questionnaires in e-learning application - the colloquium will be awarded upon successful completion of at least 6 out of total 10 questionnaires.
