Course objectives
Given that the legal regulation of art is a specific area which in the Czech environment is very little researched, there are no Czech academic texts and only a minimum of academic space devoted to it. There is a gap between the needs of the practice and the offer of teaching; both in legal and artistic contexts. The aim of the subject is to respond to the needs of the cultural and artistic world, calling for higher legal awareness of the artistic public. .

Teacher's information
The aim of the course is to prepare students especially for the practical legal aspects of artistic activity, including issues of management of artistic institutions. These aspects are an essential part of the cultural and creative industries, and therefore have a significant economic potential both in the Czech and European scale. Successful management of an art institution is conditioned by a combination of legal knowledge and skills of artistic and cultural management. The EU also emphasizes that the cultural and creative industries are a very promising sector with long-term economic benefits. The course offers MU students the opportunity to prepare for such a possibility of practical professional direction, including interaction with the artists themselves. The possibility of connecting both key aspects of cultural and artistic management in relation to law is very promising for PrF especially in terms of preparing graduates for practice.
The course is also listed under the following terms Autumn 2016, Autumn 2017, Autumn 2018, Autumn 2019, Autumn 2020, Autumn 2021, Autumn 2022, Autumn 2024.
