Syllabus
  • Special part of International Law 1. Kinds of territorial regimes in international law. Terra nullius and titles of ocular, symbolic and effective occupation. 2. Territorial sovereignty and its dilemma. The legal concept of territorial sovereignty in international law and practice. 3. Grotius and Selden and a reflection of their ideas in contemporary law of the sea. 4. Evolution of the forms of diplomacy in international law. Privileges and immunities as a basis of diplomatic law. 5. The principle of the ban on use of force as a vector normative summa and their troubles. 6. International humanitarian law at the threshold and application of rules and the protection of victim of armed conflicts. International Refugee Law 1. The Aliens Act and the Asylum Act in relation to Art. 14 and 43 of The Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms. 2. The 1951 Geneva Convention on Refugees as an instrument on human rights. Historical roots of the legal definition of the refugee under the Convention and its modern interpretation. 3. Analysis of the rule of non-refoulement pursuant to ratione personae, loci and materiae. 4. Rules of European Convention on Human Rights and the protection of refugees. 5. "Schengen a Dublin acquis". The legal concept of "safe country" in so-called european refugee law and in the Asylum Act of CR. 6. The European Response to mass refugeehood. African regulation of mass refugeehood. 7. Tasks of UNHCR.
