Course objectives
This course is intended as an analytical overview of the historical and present strategies of insurgency and counterinsurgency. The aim of the course is to explain the strategic thought in this sphere and to learn experiences from real insurgent and counterinsurgent activities. Students should be able to understand and to analyze insurgency and counterinsurgency at the strategic level.

Assessment methods
Each week: lectures, class discussions (including students presentations) Students will receive a final letter grade (A-F) for the semester based on the following components: 1/3 presentation of poistion papers; 1/3 seminary thesis; 1/3 final written exam. Grading: 56-60: A 51-55: B 46-50: C 41-45: D 36-40: E 35-0: F.
