Teaching methods
The course is divided into two educational schemes - into lectures and seminars. While the lectures are aimed at theoretical aspects of the subject, the seminars (the students are expected to prepare for by their written position papers) demand active and more practical knowledge of the issues (e. g. the ability to find, interpret and understand the case-law of selected judicial bodies and their decisions concerning the minority and asylum issues). The students ability to bring and defend arguments is tested by dividing them into two groups and their objective is to defend contradictive positions (supporters and critics of multicultural policies or active immigration policies).
Assessment methods
Course is completed by the written exam. During the course the students are preparing to the seminars by the reading of secondary literature in Czech and English and writing three position papers.
Language of instruction
Czech
