Course objectives
The course aims at relation between the political parties of the member states of the EU and the process of European Integration and its particular aspects. The issue will be discussed at the level of the member states as well as at the level of the EU.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will be able to
describe relations among cleabages at the national and supra-national levels.
identify basic aspects of Europeanisation of the political parties
understand the theories of Euroscepticism, compare its different manifestations and to identify Euroscepticism in the behaviour of relevant political actors
describe organisation and functioning of the political parties at supra-national level, within as well as beyond the framwork of the EP

Teaching methods
Lectures and seminars.
Assessment methods
Individual paper (essay) 5 pages long. A student has to achieve at least 8 points (from 20) for the paper. Group assignment: elaboration of the fictional party manifesto (groups of 4-5 students) which has to achieve at least 8 points from 20. Compulsory class participation at the level of 80 per cent.
