Participation in this course assumes that students have knowledge about the process of the European integration at the 3rd year of undergraduate level of study of the branch European Studies.

Course objectives
After succesfull participation in this course, the students will be able to understand processes and mechanisms related to the formulation of the European policy of an EU Member state. The students will be able to identify key players at the national level, explain their roles in the policy formulation and implementation at the EU level. The students will also gain detailed knowledge on the process of EU policy formulation in the Czech Republic.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
identify and explain the role of small states in the process of European integration;
explain positions of Czech political parties towards the EU;
draft a research proposal relevant in the area of Czech EU policy ;
evaluate Czech EU policy strategies by using appropriate theoretical model

Teaching methods
The course combines lectures, class discussions and presentations of experts.
Assessment methods
The course relies on continuos participation of enrolled students (63% of available points). This participation consists of 10 position papers and active participation in class. Final test represents 37% of available points. In total, students have to gain at least 60% of points to pass the course.
