Course objectives
The course aims to provide the students with the detailed information about energy security of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, as well as their cooperation and potential in this field. On successful completion of the course, students will be able to evaluate the concept of energy security, its meaning, uses, basic problems and issues. They will also be able to assess the energy situation of the EU and V4, preparing the background for the individual countries. Special concern will be dedicated to formulating the potential of the pros and cons of energy cooperation of the V4 countries.

Teaching methods
Lectures involve class discussions and require active participation; essays improve the ability of students to analyze particular issues; readings serve to broaden and deepen the spectrum of knowledge students acquire during lectures.
Assessment methods
The final grade will be calculated as a composite evaluation consisting of three parts: 1) attendance; 2) evaluation on the essay; 3) evaluation on the final exam.
