Prerequisites (in Czech)
Číst a pracovat s texty v anglickém jazyce. Jelikož doba trvání kurzu bude rozdělena paritou mezi přednášku a seminář, nutným předpokladem je i ochota a schopnost participovat na seminářích. Jejich obsahem budou jednotlivé referáty studentů a následná diskuze nad tématem. Předpokládá se tedy také znalost povinné literatury a kontinuální příprava na hodiny.

Course objectives (in Czech)
Kurz je rozdělen na teoretickou a praktickou část. Cílem teoretické části je seznámení s možnými formami aktérů, typů protestního jednání a nekonvenčních podob politické participace- stejně jako přiblížení konceptů analyzujících a popisujících podmínky vzniku a prostředí protestu, mobilizace aktérů či struktury politických příležitostí. Obsáhlejší praktická část se zaměří na analýzu vybraných politických protestů a bude tématicky reflektovat jejich rozdělení na základě cíle, aktéra a oblasti. Předmětem deskripce tak v jednotlivých hodinách budou některé výstupy tradičních mobilizačních agentur (odborů/dělnického hnutí či církve) i nových forem protestu: sociálních hnutí (se zaměřením především anti/alter- globalizační, ženské, nacionalistické, enviromentální hnutí, a "direct action" movement), stejně jako stručný popis tzv. "urban riots", evropského protestu a možného zapojení ICT.

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Podmínkou k ukončení kurzu je aktivní participace v seminářích a přednesení referátu (v délce 20 min.), který bude zpracován na předem konzultované téma a do něhož je nutné implementovat včetně povinné i doporučenou literaturu k dané oblasti. Studenti také absolvují krátký závěrečný test z povinné literatury, pro jehož úspěšné splnění je nutné uvést 60% správných odpovědí.
