Course objectives
The course is intended for students who want to use qualitative methods in their dissertations. The aim of the course is to acquaint students with general principles of coding, categorization, and topic creation, as well as interpretation and application of different perspectives in qualitative research. The course will not specifically address individual approaches in qualitative analysis, but will focus on their common ground and the mastery of analytic skills. After graduation, students should be able to choose an appropriate method of analysis, to analyze text data independently, and to reflect the starting points and perspectives they bring into the analysis.
