Course objectives
The course is aimed at acquiring practical knowledge and skills applied in contact with children, adolescents and their parents in various life situations and developmental stages. The main form of teaching is practical exercises (model situations, demonstrations, video demonstrations), which allow to simulate situations involving contact with children, adolescents and families in a safe environment. The course includes, for example, the following training situations: communication with a mother in a six-parent ward; contact with a child experiencing separation from parents; a dispute between school children, a crying child; a resisting child; an aggressive child and others. Learning outcomes
Through training situations, students learn to apply theoretical and practical psychological knowledge, especially from developmental psychology and from the fields of education, training and counselling; they learn to orient, recognize, understand and comprehend specific situations and to react adequately and communicate effectively in these situations. Learning to reflect on one's own processes in concrete training situations, to define one's needs, resources, to be able to support one's strengths, to work with error, and thus to gain responsibility for work under supervision is also an integral part of this. The graduate of this course has the opportunity to look at his/her current psychological practice skills and abilities and can thus clarify further goals in the area of his/her own professional development.
