Course objectives
The course introduces students to the analysis of modern cultural forms. The first part outlines basic sociological perspectives on culture like the phenomenological, structuralist, functionalist and Marxist theories of culture. The second part provides detailed information regarding structuralist and post-structuralist ideas of symbolic representation and concerning interpretative analysis of culture.
