Course objectives
Categorical data are the most frequent data in sociological research. Students will be introduced in two methods of categorical data analysis: logistic regression and log-linear analysis. The course is practical, it is aimed in the way how to analyse data rather than statistical theory. The core of the course are the articles printed in sociological reviews, in which logistic regression or log-linear analysis was used. Students will re-analyse data from these articles. We will work with statistical software STATA and LEM.
