fields of study / plans the course is directly associated with
Course objectives
The aim of the course is to teach students advanced techniques of statistical analysis, especially stucture modelling and multilevel modelling.
Learning outcomes
Graduates of this course will be able to:
- perform complex statistical analyses that will allow them to formulate relevant (almost causal) conclusions about complex relationships between independent variables and their effects on the dependent variable;
- understand the results of analyses published in this way in contemporary sociological peridodicals;
- propose a research design that includes the above mentioned advanced methods of analysis.
Syllabus
  • Introduction to structural modelling.
  • Path analysis.
  • Confirmatory factor analysis.
  • Multilevel modelling.
  • Correspondence analysis.
  • Latent class analysis.
