Course objectives
The aim of the course is to give students opportunity to use their bachelor work as a source for elaborating and publishing an article. On successful completion of the course student will be able to reflect methodological as well as theoretical gaps of their bachelor work and to design an academic article autonomously.
Syllabus
  • The course is devoted to the following topics and issues: 1. Sense of publishing an article.
  • 2. Defining the goal of an article.
  • 3. Defining core concepts and giving reasons to special research questions by means of their definition.
  • 4. Reflecting research methodology.
  • 5. Presenting and interpreting research results.
  • 6. Completing an article including its formal parts.
  • 7. Elaborating peer-review.
  • 8. Using peer-review.

Teaching methods
The course consists in seven cycles every of them consist in: a) instructing students, b) elaborating partial step by student, and c) giving feedback him or her concerning respective step by the teacher. Individual steps are following: 1. Defining goal of the article. 2. Defining the core concepts and giving reasons to special research questions by means of their definition. 3. Reflecting the research methodology. 4. Presenting and interpreting the research results. 5. Completing the article including its formal parts. 6. Elaborating peer-review. 6. Using peer-review.
Assessment methods
The course is completed by exam which consists in step-by-step elaboration of seven tasks: 1. Defining goal of the article. 2. Defining the core concepts and giving reasons to special research questions by means of their definition. 3. Reflecting the research methodology. 4. Presenting and interpreting the research results. 5. Completing the article including its formal parts. 6. Elaborating peer-review. 6. Using peer-review. Student can gain maximum 30 points for the tasks 1, 2, 6 and 7. Student gains 20 points for the tasks 3, 4 and 5. In sum, student can gain maximum 180 points. To finish the course successfully student has to gain minimum 140 points.
