Course objectives
The aim of the course to give the students theoretical background as well as the practical training to apply the participative approach with social work clients into the practice. In the first part of term are discussed the theories and concepts of participative approach. The second part focuses on application this approach into the practice with selected social situation (drug abuse, dependency of older people, childhood). In the third part the students making their own proposal of implementation the participative approach into the practice.
Learning outcomes
After passing the course, student should be able to: - understand the theoretical context of participative approach in social work practice; - analyze the specifics of implementation of participative approach into the social work in the Czech Republic; - compare implementation of participative approach into the social work practice in the Czech Republic and other EU countries; - propose reasoned proposal of implementation the participative approach to the social work practice in selected agency;

  • - introduction, terminology; - citizenship, participation, participative governance; - forms, levels and kinds of participation; - role of social worker into the context of participation; - participative approach in social work with children; - participative approach in social work with people with handicap; - participative approach in social work with older people; - coopertaion, collaboration into the context of participation; - limits of implementation the participative apprach into the social work practice;
